Description
~Ric approaches now in his late 20s, working on a building career with a keen, intellectual, and yet casual veneer. Although he's not a dazzlingly handsome fellow, he commands a sort of carefree confidence that will, in later years, epitomize adulthood's "coolness". He doesn't dress or act for the crowd, although he's invariably friendly except to known bullies. These wretches get a cold shoulder at best, a smug sneer at worst, and proof of the pudding should the playground antics demand it. But Ric is better known in class for his intellectual prowess bent towards philosophy, and often spends his lunches alone with a sandwich in one hand and notebook paper in the other. The young man sports casual gear mostly: jeans and t-shirts and a denim jacket in cooler weather, and often a backpack. His mousy-brown hair is kept trimmed short in a fade. Although he usually wears contacts, sometimes his baby-brown academic eyes are half-concealed behind a pair of metal-rimmed glasses.~

History
Youth
Ric grew up in a decent family in the Midwest. His father was a Lutheran minister and his mother a loving housewife. He was raised with open-minded but moral values, learning to demonstrate tolerance to all creeds of peoples. His parents also got him into karate training in his early teen years, perhaps as a means to focus his pubescent energy. It helped greatly to balance his outlook on life, and he became a confident, virtuous young man.
Education
Ric kept an open-mind but eschewed that which was plainly harmful. His martial arts training helped him not only stand up for himself, but help others weaker in school stand against bullies and pushers. As a result, Ric acquired a bit of a reputation in high school for being a "hero". But his true love was found in his natural academic talent with foreign languages. He was no one teacher's pet, impressing all of the linguistics department with his aptitude for any language. So far he demonstrated nearly fluent skill with French and Spanish and broad acquaintance with German, Latin, and even Japanese and Serbo-Croatian from an exchange student and Bosnian refugee respectively. Ric readily admitted however that his love of language is found more in the written than the spoken word. He wrote "publishable" poems and short stories, and often translated them into one of his languages, just for fun. In short, the lad kept busy with school, languages, and martial arts practice. He kept few friends as a result, although he remained friendly to all deserving.
Recent Years
In his last year of high school, Ric was fortunate enough to begin dating Katylin Meresy. Although the girl had a reputation for being a spoiled rich cheerleader brat, Ric was engaged by her intelligence and competitive attitude. In time, the two became an unexpectedly inseperable pair. When high school ended, Ric went on to college with Katylin (who was a year ahead) at the local Sugar Creek University. Ric was interested only in achieving an Associate’s Degree at this point, as he wanted to teach martial arts at some point in the future. He and Katylin shacked up together at her expansive family estate. Ric focused on his studies and martial arts practice to the exclusion of everything but affections for Katylin!
Significant Other
Ric and Katylin Meresy have been dating since high school in early 2003. The two began to see each other after unexpectedly hitting it off on more friendly avenues. Ric's steadier passion helped Katylin ground her own lusty behaviors and focus on one (still, cute!) guy. Now they live together and focus on college and their careers to come afterwards. While children at this point would only pose problems, no doubt, Ric and Katylin are now married. They enjoyed a wonderful wedding in Hawai'i in autumn of 2004, and look forward to their futures together.
But in 2008, Katylin’s old indiscretions came back and haunted her. Combined with her family’s lingering disapproval of Ric (being so middle class), their marriage gradually fell apart and in 2009, they divorced.

Significant Others
Ric has slipped into something he didn't expect. He met Sensei Hinodi once in 2007 when he first got CKA up and running and she invited him into MACLA. He was just a blip on the radar for her back then. Suddenly, she showed up on his doorstep again 2012, and this time with a strange earnestness he couldn't even put to words. He knew only that he had to follow, that she whispered of an "unexpected destiny". Next thing Ric knew, he was surrounded by beautiful women who all had strange stories to tell, and who wanted something from him. What they wanted, he couldn't guess. He's not even sure that they know what they want yet. He just knows he belongs there, among them all.
In the World of Darkness, genuinely virtuous young men are hard to come by. Ric is no saint, but he is a pillar of moral values that won't be pushed over. Unfortunately, in a world where the tides of wickedness and corruption can literally crush anything in its path. Ric is an ant and doesn't even realize just how wicked the world is. He is a candle of hope that might be blown right out.

Average.
For who he is, the likelihood of Ric being tempted into drugs and deviance is very low. Of course, he's just a mortal, so a wicked Bane-spirit or whathaveyou could easily make him take drugs or engage in deviant behavior. If such a creature took interest in him, that is.
